The Couples Counselling Process…

As a Level 2 trained Relational Life Therapist (RLT), I take a direct, no-nonsense approach to help you and your partner break out of the patterns that keep you stuck. My role isn’t just to sit back and listen. I’m actively engaged in calling out the dynamics I see, helping each of you understand your part in the cycle, and guiding you toward real, lasting change.

RLT is designed to teach you how to be truly relational, to accept closeness, communicate honestly, and build compassion for one another. In session, I may challenge you to face truths that are hard to see on your own, while also supporting both partners in feeling safe and respected. Together, we’ll work on:

  • Recognizing and interrupting unhealthy patterns

  • Building empathy and compassion for each other’s experience

  • Developing healthier ways of relating and interacting

  • Strengthening your bond through honesty, accountability, and closeness

What to Expect in Your First Session…

Walking into couples therapy can feel intimidating, but my goal is to make the process clear and supportive from the very beginning. In our first session, I’ll take time to learn about you both, your relationship history, your struggles, and your hopes for therapy.

You can anticipate a session that is active and engaging. I’ll start noticing and naming the patterns that show up between you, and I’ll help you begin to understand how these cycles keep you feeling stuck. At times, I may be direct and forward, “calling it as I see it”, but always in service of helping you reconnect with honesty, compassion, and closeness.

By the end of the first session, you’ll walk away with a clearer sense of your dynamic as a couple and some initial tools to begin practicing new ways of relating. Most importantly, you’ll start to feel that therapy is not just a place to talk about problems, it’s a space to actively create change together.

Who We Help…

I specialize in supporting Millennial and Gen Z couples who are navigating the challenges of modern relationships. Whether you’re dating, engaged, or married, therapy can help you deepen your connection and learn new ways to grow together. My practice is inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities—love takes many forms, and every couple deserves the chance to thrive.
